January in the southern UK and its colder than I ever remember. I sit here wondering why/how and what I should write - is this an online diary for my secret thoughts or merely a chatty way of passing time, a distraction?
So decision made - on impulse as usual - my life and my home need tidying and organising so when better to start than a New Year. Having read almost every self help book on the market and fluent in psychobabble its time to really take a look and see if its all for real.
Treated myself to India Knight`s book on Thrify Living from my christmas book tokens and other half and I have decided to give that a go in order to pay off the new kitchen we are having in february - a frightening £10,000. First step is Sky being cancelled and the TV to go at the end of the month. I will not miss it but he will!
Now off to try baking a Parsnip and Walnut Cake with the daughters. How wholesome does that sound. Its from the Riverford Organics Recipes and having tried some of their stuff before this should be good. Got to use up all these veg somehow in a manner that the children will eat. Chocolate Beetroot Cake is lovely but then I eat too much of it and thats not so good...
